Flexibility and Future Expansion
Fulton County Hospital selected PMBA Architects to design a new, three-story 61,000 SF medical office building to accommodate the growing need for outpatient services on the existing campus. The new building will be connected to the main hospital to better accommodate patients, staff and physicians.
The first floor is designed around the Virginia Mason New Model of Nursing Care Team concept where the patients enter the exam room from one side of the room and the physician and staff enter from the center team care area.
Special attention was given to the use of day-lighting and open space at the main entrance and elevator lobby, to enhance the patient experience and simplify the way-finding process. The design of the site was considered in improving the overall patient experience, while adding a 300 car parking lot to handle the additional patient demand.
