Reduce Patient Anxiesty
The University of Toledo Medical Center identified the need to provide their patients with a new state-of-the-art Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center, transforming the existing 34,500 SF former Conference center into a centralized center of cancer treatment while serving as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program.
The Cancer Center was designed to provide the most advanced Radiation and Oncology Treatment in the Toledo area with advanced cancer treatment equipment including 4D PET-CT Simulator, dedicated Varian Edge Radiosurgery Unit, together with High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy.
Dana Cancer Center enables the patients to work with an interdisciplinary team through out their diagnosis, consultation, radiation, chemotherapy and surgery. PMBA Architects worked closely with the University of Toledo team to create the healing environment the University desired. Soft color schemes with a focus on nature were used to give patients a sense of comfort in a peaceful and natural setting.
